Can't get enough of the fun Kimberbell quilt patterns and designs! I had pieced and quilted one of these for myself back in the fall of 2020. I was recently asked to quilt up this "Love Notes" quilt for my local quilt shop; Quilting Delights right down the road in Milwaukie, OR.
Still continuing the piecing of the entire quilt... Takes a while since I am longarming quilts all day also. I may not have this completely put together for quite some time, but I will post it here!
This will certainly be the busiest quilt I have ever completed as I am more of an organized; everything in its place, matchy matchy kind of person! :)
Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt final reveal was release for the Grassy Creek quilt. While I like her version (as she is very scrappy), I am most likely going to mix mine up a bit. Here I have posted my main block. I think I'm going to play around with the sashings and such to see what I end up with. I will post that as I get it completed.
Part 6 was a little time consuming as we put together all these grey strips randomly and then added the triangle corners. Can wait to see how the final layout will be as this quilt is to be 94"x94"!
OK, So it has been a busy holiday with trying to get us all outside for the fresh air.
I finally got to Part 5 when we return home and completed it today.
Part 5 consisted of some 9 patches, some flying geese and 2 different sets and sizes of various red prints.
Flying Geese, trimmed!
The complete Part 5, ready to go!
It's been a busy week here up to the Christmas holiday so I am posting the last 2 clues that I completed this past 2 weeks. Another clue will come out tomorrow December 26th. I did part 3 and part 4 was an add on to part 3 to show the completed piece on the left with my trimming scraps! It's like unwrapping a surprise gift ever so slowing!
This was another productive week keeping up with this mystery as well as all the holiday longarm quilting that I am completing. I love piecing these, but my hands/forearms get a bit tired of the squaring up process. I do love how perfect that all look though after completing that little task though. Part 3 gets relesed tomorrow on Bonnie Hunter's Blog. *see below for web address.
So... I decided to do the Bonnie Hunter mystery this winter since 2020 has been kind of a homebound year; but hey, for us quilters this is great!!!
You can find it here at this link: https://quiltville.blogspot.com
And best of all - IT IS FREE!!!
This is Part 1 complete!
and the resulting squaring up scraps!
I am truly excited to have moved into our new home here in Portland, Oregon!
I have a beautiful Studio once again and love, love, love the area.
I will post a photo of the Studio area once I have everything in its' place. I am taking in quilts and keeping busy, so it may be a bit. :)
At the very end of the year, I finally completed (piecing, quilting and binding) my Mariner's Compass that I purchased the pattern from Quilting By the Bay way back in 2013. This entire quilt was done with Ruler work and Free-motion quilting. I used a 50/50 Bamboo/Cotton blend for the batting and various Glide thread colors throughout.
